Yes, I LOVE OPM!

You might wonder what OPM means, well it stands for ORIGINAL PILIPINO MUSIC. Long before I started listen to rap music, all 16 years that I lived in the Philippines I always listened to OPM and other big filipino rock bands. This band that i started getting into is called "Up Dharma Down", google them and definitely listen to their 2 albums "Fragmented" and "Bipolar". Believe it or not, i just found out about them last year. They just dropped a new single titled "Tadhana", check their rehearsal out:

Brendas got a baby

Escort Mk2s are always cars that hold close to my heart. They run deep in my bloodlines as a car that my grandfather passed on to my father who now passed on to me. We can thank this car as to the origins of the modern twin cam design and especially towards the respective cult motor in the Corolla GTS, the 4ag.

When I saw Ken Block let Vaughn Gittin Jr borrow his Mk2 for the Gymkhana I just went gitty like a school girl all over it. Glad to say Speedhunters finally featured this beast of a car

Drink Chocolate Milk, LIKE A BOSH!

The so called "3rd superstar" in south beach stay taking L's this season. Getting dunked on by a point guard, rumors circulating that he might get traded while currently averaging 16.4PPG & 6.0RPG, not bad being a 3rd wheel huh? He did however have his breakout game against the Phoenix Suns, posting 35pts, 4ast & 6reb. 6 REBOUNDS?!?!?! There's only one explanation to this: average 6 rebounds per game, LIKE A BOSH!

LA LA land

Some memories from my recent bday in LA.

Thanks to George Jadelrab, Drewbyrd, Adam, Ryan, Morgan Cruz, Iza Llorico and all my homies for the memories down there for my bday. Soon enough again fam!

From the Westside With Love

In this day and age, it is a fact that it is getting easier and easier to make better videos based off the accessability and attainable prices that all these HD/DSLR cameras are bringing to the market....

.....one thing that most viral music videos are lacking because we all live in a HD filled world is the real content and flow of a story towards the conclusion. Dom Kennedy, who I am already a big fan of his music, and also my good friend Drewbyrd happens to be his DJ, has come with a good video to already complement his classic LP, From the Westside with Love.

Check it out "Locals Only"

Hello Mr West

Kanye West, how do we know that his music has a impact on popular culture? We know because every album he's come out with whether it be College Dropout all the way to his new album, My Beautiful Twisted Fantasy, has always left so much of an impression, that we can recall the exact situations and times of our lives when they all came out.

Runaway, his short film featuring snippets of songs from My Beautiful Twisted Fantasy

iphone 4g? Still begging to differ

So as many of you readers have found these past couple days, someone left a supposedly "iphone 4g" at a bar in Redwood City. Being a former Apple employee and knowing how these product drops operate, I'm 60 percent bought that this is the new iphone, and 40 percent not bought on it completely. Why am I 40 percent not bought on this yet?

-accountability of anyone leaving this in a "bar in RWC". Someone should really look into who got fired over this
-no shots off the iphone 4.0 os despite some plausible reasons

Here is a spec break down via Fatlace

What’s new

• Front-facing video chat camera
• Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
• Camera flash
• Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
• Improved display. It’s unclear if it’s the 960×640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the “Connect to iTunes” screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
• What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
• Split buttons for volume
• Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic

What’s changed

• The back is entirely flat, made of either glass (more likely) or ceramic or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Tapping on the back makes a more hollow and higher pitched sound compared to tapping on the glass on the front/screen, but that could just be the orientation of components inside making for a different sound
• An aluminum border going completely around the outside
• Slightly smaller screen than the 3GS (but seemingly higher resolution)
• Everything is more squared off
• 3 grams heavier
• 16% Larger battery
• Internals components are shrunken, miniaturized and reduced to make room for the larger battery

The screen
While they couldn’t get it past the connect to iTunes screen for the reasons listed earlier, the USB cable on that screen was so high quality that it was impossible to discern individual pixels. They can’t tell you the exact resolution of this next-generation iPhone, but it’s much higher than the current iPhone 3GS.

The operating system
According to the person who found it, this iPhone was running iPhone OS 4.0 before the iPhone 4.0 announcement. The person was able to play with it and see the iPhone 4.0 features. Then, Apple remotely killed the phone before we got access to it. We were unable to restore because each firmware is device specific—3GS firmware only loads on 3GS devices—and the there are no firmwares available for this unreleased phone. Which is another clue to its authenticity.

It is recognized as an iPhone
This iPhone behaves exactly like an iPhone does when connected to a computer, with the proper boot sequence and “connect to iTunes” restore functionality. Xcode and iTunes both see this as an iPhone. Mac OS X’s System Profiler also reports this as an iPhone in restore mode, which is a natural consequence of remotely wiping the phone, but report different product identifiers (both CPID and CPRV) than either the 3G or the 3GS.

It uses micro-sim
The fact that it uses a micro-sim is a clear indicator that this is a next-generation iPhone. No other cellphone uses this standard at this point in the US.

The hardware specs

The phone measures 4.50 by 2.31 by 0.37 inches. It weighs 140 grams. The 3GS weighs 137 grams on a postal scale (and 135 on Apple’s official measurements). So, in comparison, it’s 3 grams heavier. The battery is 5.25 WHr at 3.7V, compared to the 3GS battery, which is 4.51 WHr at 3.7V. On the back of the phone, it said it was XX GB, but since we were unable to get the phone to a running state, we couldn’t see exactly how large it was.
